Worth the Wait!

Happy Tuesday!

Welp, we have almost completed the first half of the year, and I wanted to take time to check in with my Sup-HERos.

What has come up for you throughout this first half of the year. Are you sticking to that diet? Are you remaining active in the gym? Are you maintaining those boundaries surrounding the folks you said you were not carrying into 2k25? Are you clearing those debts? Are you comparing your journey to those you follow on social media? Sound familiar?! Trust me, I don't mean to step on anyone's toes.

I stopped by to remind you that change is a marathon, not a sprint. I know this sounds cliche, but it's true! Story time: I have had the privilege to serve women experiencing intimate partner violence for almost 11 years. However, I recognized that my season of serving in my current capacity had ceased. For this reason, I wrote down a list of employer needs, prayed and began seeking out new employment opportunities. I received a couple of offers; however, they weren't the best fit. After two years of actively and passively searching coupled with the blessing of someone mentioning my name, I received the call on my birthday (Look at God)! While the offer fulfilled many of my employer needs, I had no clue it would replace the current population I served. This would mean a BIG CHANGE!

Also, something about this waiting period was different than previous as the process took place over the course of about five months. Honestly, I was shocked by my response. Nonetheless, I remained faithful to what I had written in my journal regarding my next employer. I knew God couldn't strengthen me without stretching me. My uncle also reminded me that, "If God says yes, it's yes." Then, it dawned on me that this wait was different because God continued to mature me in other waiting seasons. The thought of change can be daunting, because like many of us, we want details about what's to come, okay! However, this transition has increased my faith, revealed the importance of waiting and reminded me that I don't have to have all the answers when I have "TRUST (Total Reliance Upon Spiritual Timing)." With that being said, God can redeem time, so no worries if the first half of the year didn't go as planned. Restart that diet, gym membership, establish those boundaries or snowball that debt. My hope is that you develop maturity in YOUR waiting season. Now, get back in the game, this next half is worth the wait!

Affirmation: I refuse to live emotionally imprisoned allowing the enemy to hijack my mind with disbelief when I was created to be Sup-HER amazing.

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe we have reached the end of 2024? Hearing elders say “the years pass more quickly the older you become”...
